He has thrown for 2,074 yards with 20 touchdowns and rushed for 549 yards and eight scores. "He is doing all the things necessary of a Heisman candidate," Oregon coach Mike Bellotti said. "He's winning football games. He's leading his team."

Arizona is also coming off their bye week after beating UCLA two weeks ago. "You can see our team getting more confident each week," Arizona coach Mike Stoops said. Quarterback Willie Tuitama was 21-for-36 for 341 yards and three touchdowns against UCLA. Tuitama is eighth in the nation with 314.5 passing yards per game.
