An automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament is up for grabs tonight as the Horizon League Championship has #17 Butler taking on Wright State. The Butler Bulldogs have lost twice in the conference title game in the last six seasons, falling to Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2003 and again last year. SBG Global reports that most early money is taking Butler on the road in this one.
Butler and Wright State will be meeting in the conference tourney for the fourth time since 1998. Butler was able to escape Loyola in the semifinals as A.J. Graves hit six foul shots in the final 53 seconds Saturday to lift the Bulldogs to a 67-66 overtime victory. Graves is second in the nation in free-throw shooting at 95.8 percent. He missed all nine of his shots but hit all 12 of his free throws in Saturday’s game. Butler matched a school record with its 27th win of the season. The Bulldogs lead the series with Wright State 15-12.
Butler is a 1.5 traveling favorite at SBG Global.
Butler lost at Wright State 77-65 on February 10th. The Bulldogs routed the Raiders 73-42 at home January 6th.
Wright State won for the 10th time in 11 games Saturday, 67-51 over Wisconsin-Green Bay to reach a conference championship game for the third time in the program's history. Leading scorer DaShaun Wood had 25 points on Saturday. Wood scored 30 points in the Feb. 10th victory over Butler.

The Dallas Mavericks look to extend their franchise-record winning streak to 16 games when they host the New Jersey Nets tonight. Dallas became the sixth-fastest team in NBA history to reach 50 wins with its 103-98 victory over Orlando on Saturday. "Having a record is always great," Dirk Nowitzki said. "It means you've done something that's never been done before. But we're not focused on the streaks. If we go 82-0, it doesn't mean anything if we don't win the championship. We know we have a lot of work to do until then” and they need to worry about tonight. SBG Global reports that even with the 11.5 points, early betting puts the public all over Dallas.
Dallas has won 12 of the last 13 against New Jersey. Dallas defeated New Jersey 92-75 on Dec. 5th. Dallas has won 22 straight at home since a 92-82 loss to Detroit on Dec. 7th. Nowitzki is averaging 28 points, 10.4 rebounds and 5 assists in his last eight games. He had 26 points and 13 rebounds against the Nets in December.

The Nets are just barely hanging on to the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They lost 99-86 to Philadelphia on Sunday. "We haven't shot ourselves in the foot yet, but we let two opportunities go by," said Jason Kidd "It's never the right time to lose. Right now, we're running out of games." Vince Carter had just nine points and is not playing well of late. "We're still in the hunt," Carter said. "We'll be in the playoffs. But this isn't the way to do it.”
