Two NBA Games To Look at Tonight

Brought to you by:
SBG Global Sportsbook

NBA Basketball
Indiana Pacers (31-40) at Orlando Magic (33-39)
8:05 pm Eastern
ESPN
SBG Global Opening Line: Magic – 6.5, Total 181

The reeling Indiana Pacers face perhaps their most important game of the season tonight as they travel to take on the Orlando Magic. The Pacers are a game and a half back of the Magic for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. A win tonight would get the Pacers within a half game but a loss would put them 2.5 games out and probably end any realistic playoff hopes. With so much on the line tonight, early betting at SBG Global has the public on the Pacers plus the points.

Indiana is coming off a bad loss at New Jersey on Wednesday. The Pacers played without Jermaine O’Neal, who missed the game with a left ankle injury. The Pacers dropped to 2-8 without their best forward. O'Neal had totaled 71 of the team's 184 points in the previous two games. That was Indiana’s 10th straight loss on the road.

The Orlando Magic are a 6.5 point favorite with a total of 181 at SBG Global.

As bad as things are going for Indiana they are not much better for Orlando. The Magic are coming off an unbelievable loss to Boston on Wednesday night when they only need to get the ball inbounds to win. They ended up losing to the Celtics in double overtime 105-96. The Magic fell to 8th place in the Eastern Conference. Hedo Turkoglu could not handle a Grant Hill inbounds pass and Paul Pierce hit a shot to send the game into overtime. Turkoglu screamed for a foul on the play but none was called. "If I had to do it all over again, I'd have called timeout. Pierce fouled him, though," Hill said. "He winked at me after the play. He knew.''

"We played horrible, a horrible first half," Hill said. We should have won this game, plain and simple." He said. “We gave up the game," center Dwight Howard said. Tonight’s game should definitely be interesting as two struggling teams try and stay in the playoff hunt.

The Pacers are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 Friday games. The Pacers are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 vs. the Southeast. The Pacers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games. The Pacers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The
Pacers are 2-9-1 ATS in their last 12 vs. the Eastern Conference. The road team is 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings between the two teams. The Pacers are 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Orlando.

The Magic are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 vs. the Eastern Conference. The Magic are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing record.

The Under is 8-2 in the Pacers last 10 road games. The Over is 6-2 in the Pacers last 8 vs. the Eastern Conference. The Under is 13-3 in Orlando’s last 16 vs. the Central. The Under is 23-9 in the Magic’s last 32 home games. The Under is 13-3-1 in the last 17 meetings between the two teams. The Under is 7-3-1 in the last 11 meetings in Orlando.

NBA Basketball
Houston Rockets (46-26) at Los Angeles Lakers (38-33)
10:35 pm Eastern
ESPN
SBG Global Opening Line: Rockets – 2, Total 195.5

The Los Angeles Lakers are 5-0 when Kobe Bryant scores more than 40 points this month and 0-8 when he doesn't. It will be tough for Kobe to get 40 tonight against a Rockets team that plays tough defense. Houston ranks first in the NBA in field goal percentage defense and second in scoring defense. The Rockets held Los Angeles to 34.2 percent shooting in their 102-77 win on January 10th. Kobe had just 20 points in that game. Following the 0-8 theory, the gambling public at SBG Global is all over the Rockets laying the points.

The Houston Rockets are a 2 point favorite with a total of 195.5 at SBG Global.

Kobe had a rough game in Tuesday's 88-86 loss to Memphis. He finished with just 23 points on 7-of-26 shooting. "It was one of the poorest shooting efforts we've had this season," coach Phil Jackson said. "At some point, I felt like the team was relying on Kobe to do all the scoring, and no one could pick it up once they kind of figured he wasn't going to make shots."

The Rockets won’t have to travel for this game as they beat the Los Angeles Clippers 92-87 on Wednesday at Staples Center behind Tracy McGrady's 27 points and eight assists. Yao Ming added 24 points and 15 rebounds."If we want to play our very best, Tracy and Yao have to play at a high level of efficiency for a lot of minutes," coach Jeff Van Gundy said. "I think that gives us our best chance of winning."

The Rockets are in fifth place in the West, trailing Utah by 1.5 games for home court advantage. "You want to get the highest seed that you can, obviously, but I've never focused in as much on who's in front of us or who's behind us. That type of thinking always gets you into trouble," Van Gundy said. "We're glad that we qualified, and we're going to try to get better over these next three weeks."

Los Angeles is in 6th place in the West but well back of the Rockets. The Rockets are 10-21 against the Lakers since the 2000-01 season.

The Rockets are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 Friday games. The Rockets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a road favorite. The Rockets are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Rockets are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. the Pacific. The Rockets are 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Los Angeles.

The Lakers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a home underdog. The Lakers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 vs. the Southwest. The Lakers are 10-25-2 ATS in their last 37 games overall. The Lakers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog. The Lakers are 2-12-1 ATS in their last 15 home games.

The Over is 5-1 in the Rockets last 6 games as a road favorite. The Under is 4-1 in the Rockets last 5 overall. The Over is 7-3 in the Rockets last 10 road games. The Over is 9-4 in the Rockets last 13 vs. the Pacific. The Over is 5-1 in the Lakers last 6 overall. The Under is 8-2 in the Lakers last 10 games as an underdog. The Over is 20-8 in the Lakers last 28 home games. The Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Los Angeles.
