SBG Global Opening Line: Duke – 5.5
The Maryland Terrapins will try and make it six straight tonight as they take on Duke. Maryland has won five straight after starting 3-6 in conference play. The streak started with a 72-60 home win over Duke back on February 11th. Maryland will be trying to sweep the Blue Devils for the 2nd time in three seasons. "It's really exciting," Maryland forward James Gist said. "Now we just have to prepare for that and if we can finish out the season with a sweep of them it will be really good." However, the gambling public does not think that will be the outcome tonight with most early money at SBG Global on Duke laying the points.
Maryland is coming off an 89-87 over North Carolina on Sunday. Guard D.J. Strawberry scored a career-high 27 points. Strawberry was named ACC player of the week for the second week in a row as he averaged 18.5 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in two games.
Duke comes into tonight’s game having won three straight ACC games by a combined 22 points. They also won at St. John’s in an out of conference game on Sunday 67-50. "We are obviously pleased about the win," Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said. "We had played three really emotional games in our conference when we were 5-6 and won all three, two of them away. With the young team we have, I was worried about letting up. We didn't. We were very prepared to play."
Duke is a 6.5 point favorite with a total of 140 at SBG Global.
Josh McRoberts had 20 points and eight rebounds against Maryland earlier this month but is only averaging 8.3 points and 5.3 boards over the last three games.
