Philadelphia 76ers (5-16) at Dallas Mavericks (15-7)
8:00 pm Eastern
ESPN
Opening Line: Mavericks - 15
The Philadelphia 76ers can’t win a game lately and so far they haven’t been able to trade Allen Iverson either. Tonight the 76ers look to snap their longest losing streak in 10 years when they visit the Dallas Mavericks. Iverson leads the 76ers with 31.2 points and 7.3 assists per game this season. Philadelphia wasn’t playing very well with Iverson, but they have been horrible without him. Philadelphia has lost nine straight and is 2-16 since winning the first three games of the season. SBG Global reports that even with such a large spread, smart money is still taking the Mavericks at home.
"It's like I told the players in there; this is new to me," Philadelphia coach Maurice Cheeks said. "It's a challenge for myself and it's certainly a challenge for the players. Everyday there's something new and this is a new challenge. It's a new challenge to stay and motivate these players." It is unlikely the losing streak is going to end anytime soon. After playing Dallas tonight the 76ers play San Antonio tomorrow.
Dallas is coming off a nice 110-101 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday. The Mavericks got 29 points from Josh Howard and shot a season-high 60.0 percent. The Mavericks have split their last six games following a 12-game winning streak. Dallas and Philadelphia have split their last six meetings, but the Mavericks have won three of four at home.
Dallas is a 15 point favorite with a total of 187 at SBG Global.
The 76ers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. the Southwest. They are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog. They are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 Friday games and they are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall.
The Mavericks are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. the Atlantic. The Mavericks are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a losing record.
The Under is 11-0 in Philadelphia’s last 11 games as an underdog of 11 points or more. The Under is 9-2 in their last 11 vs. the Western Conference. The Under is 7-2 in their last 9 vs. the Southwest. The Under is 14-2 in the Mavericks last 16 games as a home favorite of 11 points or more. The Under is 5-1 in their last 6 overall. The Under is 4-1 in Dallas’ last 5 games as a favorite.

Houston Rockets (14-8) at Los Angeles Lakers (15-7)
10:35 pm Eastern
ESPN
Opening Line: Rockets – 6
Earlier this week the Houston Rockets almost pulled off the greatest comeback in NBA history. They may not need that kind of miracle tonight in Los Angeles against a Lakers team playing without Lamar Odom and the gambling public at SBG Global feels the same way, taking the Rockets on the road.
Odom sprained his right knee Tuesday in a 102-94 win at Houston as the Lakers blew almost all of a 28-point fourth-quarter lead. The Lakers missed Odom in Wednesday’s 110-101 loss to Dallas. "We really missed him on the defensive end of the floor," Los Angeles guard Kobe Bryant said. "We missed him big time." Odom is the team’s top rebounder and second in scoring to Bryants. Bryant had 33 points, seven rebounds and four assists on Wednesday but no one else did anything.
Los Angeles has won three straight against Houston since a 76-74 loss at home Dec. 18.
Yao Ming has been carrying the load for Houston with Tracy McGrady out with back spasms. He had 38 points and 18 rebounds last night against Golden State but he missed two key shots in the 109-107 defeat. Luther Head had a season-high 26 points and nine rebounds last night in place of McGrady.
Los Angeles is a 5 point favorite with a total of 191.5 at SBG Global.
The Rockets are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a loss. They are also 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Friday games. Houston is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games. The Rockets have had trouble against the Pacific Division though going 4-12 ATS in their last 16. The Rockets are 2-8 ATS in the last 10 meetings between the two teams but the road team is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings.
The Lakers are also 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a loss. They are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. the Southwest. They are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games as a home favorite but they are only 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 Friday games.
The Over is 7-2 in the Rockets last 9 vs. the Pacific but the Under is 7-2 in the Rockets last 9 games playing on no rest. The Under is 8-3 in the Rockets last 11 vs. the Western Conference. The Under is 7-3 in their last 10 games as a road underdog. The Over is 4-0 in the Lakers last 4 vs. the Southwest. The Over is 5-0 in the Lakers last 5 overall and it is 7-1 in their last 8 home games. The Over is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings between the two teams.
