The Los Angeles Lakers got some bad news last night as Lamar Odom sprained his right knee against the Rockets and is expected to be out at least the rest of this month, if not longer. Odom is the Lakers second leading scorer, averaging 17.5 points per game. The good news for the Lakers is that they still have Kobe Bryant who is scoring 26.2 points per game. He did not play well last night though even though the Lakers held on for the win. Bryant shot just 30.8 percent but it was enough, just barely, to win. The Lakers nearly had a historic collapse as they led by 27 points and the Rockets came back to get within two before the Lakers pulled away. "That was the weirdest game I've ever been a part of," Bryant said. "That's the first time I've put the ice on and had to come back out and play. It's almost like Red Auerbach smoking the cigar." Bryant is averaging 33.4 points in his last five games in Dallas. The Lakers are trying to match a season high fourth straight win tonight.

They have a good shot at getting it too since Miami’s superstar guard Dwyane Wade will miss tonight’s game. Wade had his wisdom teeth removed yesterday. The Heat said Wade could play Friday when Miami is in Washington.
