New Jersey Nets (36-40) at Washington Wizards (39-37)
7:00 pm Eastern
NBA-TV
SBG Global Opening Line: Nets – 2.5, Total 205
The New Jersey Nets are trying to catch the Washington Wizards in the Eastern Conference standings and considering all the injuries Washington has it may happen, especially if the Nets win tonight. Jason Kidd and Vince Carter each recorded a triple-double in the opener of a home-and-home series with the Wizards and they will look to lead the Nets as they look for the sweep tonight. But in an odd twist, SBG Global reports that early betting shows the public is leaning towards the Wizards at home plus the points.
Carter and Kidd became the first teammates with triple-doubles in the same game since Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen on Jan. 3, 1989. Carter had 46 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists, while Kidd recorded 10 points, 16 rebounds and 18 assists to lead New Jersey in their 120-114 overtime win over Washington.
The Nets will be looking for their fifth straight win over the Wizards tonight. New Jersey can pull within two games of sixth-place Washington with six games to go. The Nets also have to be careful not to let Orlando or Indiana catch them. The ninth-place Pacers are only two games behind New Jersey.
The New Jersey Nets are – 3 point favorites with a total of 205 at SBG Global.
Kidd is averaging 17points, 15 assists and 11.7 rebounds in his last three games against the Wizards. Carter has averaged 35.7 in the three games against Washington this season.
The Wizards will try to avoid a season-high five game losing streak. Washington hasn't dropped five in a row since April 7-14, 2006.
The Wizards can clinch a playoff spot with a win tonight or an Indiana loss. The Wizards are playing without Gilbert Arenas (torn meniscus) and Caron Butler (broken hand), who are averaging 28.4 and 19.9 points per game. Both players are out for the year. Antawn Jamison has had to carry the load and is averaging 29.7 points in the last three games. He had a season-high 37 points and 11 rebounds against New Jersey on Saturday.
The Nets are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games as a road favorite. The Nets are 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 road games. The Nets are 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 vs. the Eastern Conference. The Nets are 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings between the two teams.
The Wizards are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a home underdog. The Wizards are 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 home games. The underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between the two teams.
The Over is 5-1 in the Wizards last 6 vs. the Atlantic. The Over is 7-2 in the Wizards last 9 vs. the Eastern Conference. The Over is 6-2 in the Wizards last 8 games as an underdog. The Over is 10-4 in the last 14 meetings between the two teams.

Washington Nationals (1-6) at Atlanta Braves (5-1)
7:35 pm Eastern
TBS
SBG Global Opening Line: Braves – 240, Total 8.5 (- 110)
Two teams going in opposite directions match-up tonight as the struggling Washington Nationals face the red-hot Atlanta Braves. Atlanta beat the New York Mets 3-2 on Sunday to move into first place for the first time since April 5, 2006. The Braves are 5-1 for the first time since they won the World Series in 1995."We've got to keep going," Atlanta manager Bobby Cox said. "We've got Washington coming in, and they can jump up quick and bite you, also." The gambling public at SBG Global feels that’s just Bobby being Bobby with all early money loading up on the Braves at home.
Washington is probably the worst team in baseball and could be one of the worst teams in recent memory. The Nationals are at the bottom of the league in almost all categories. They have an ERA of 5.86 ERA and their offense has been horrid, going 0-for-30 with runners in scoring position at one time this year. The Nationals were swept by Arizona in a four-game series over the weekend. "It's the first week of the season. I laugh at people who hit the panic button after the first week," Washington right fielder Austin Kearns said. "Yeah, it hasn't gone good, we know that. But if we hit the panic button after the first week, come August, I guess you guys would expect to see guys hanging themselves or something."
The Atlanta Braves are – 245 favorites with a total of 8.5 over (– 115) at SBG Global.
The Braves will send Tim Hudson (0-0, 1.29 ERA) to the mound tonight. Hudson pitched well in his first start of the season Wednesday, allowing one run and two hits over seven innings as Atlanta rallied for a 3-2 victory in 11 innings at Philadelphia. "I feel like I'm back on top of my game," Hudson said.
Hudson was 6-6 with a 4.40 ERA in 18 starts a year ago. Hudson faced Washington once last season and gave up five runs over 5 2-3 innings in a 5-2 loss on June 5.
Washington will give the ball to Matt Chico (0-0, 13.50) for his second career start after he had a difficult debut. He lasted only four-plus innings and was hit hard for six runs and eight hits in a 7-6 victory over Florida on Wednesday.
The Nationals are 5-2 in their last 7 games as a road underdog. The Nationals are 8-22 in their last 30 road games vs. a right-handed starter. The Nationals are 1-5 in their last 6 vs. the National League East. The Nationals are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings between the two teams.
The Braves are 6-1 in their last 7 games on Grass. The Braves are 5-1 in their last 6 vs. the National League East. The Braves are 13-3 in their last 16 games as a home favorite. The Braves are 4-9 in their last 13 games vs. a left-handed starter. The Braves are 4-1 in Hudson's last 5 home starts.
The Over is 4-1 in the Nationals last 5 vs. the National League East. The Under is 7-2 in the Nationals last 9 games vs. a right-handed starter. The Over is 12-4 in the Nationals last 16 games as a road underdog. The Over is 4-0-1 in the Braves last 5 home games vs. a left-handed starter. The Over is 8-3 in the Braves last 11 vs. the National League East. The Over is 8-1 in Hudson's last 9 starts as a home favorite. The Over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings between the two teams. The Over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Atlanta.
